New Pictures

I thought I would post a few pics of me at 25 weeks. I haven't taken pics in a couple of weeks and was blown away by how much I have grown. CRAZY! Also discovered last night a totally new craving... on top of the Nibs, Croissant donut things and Carmel Fraps from Starbucks I am craving these Apple Pear Hybrid type fruit.. so yummy and juicy. Have to stock up on more! At least the are better for me than the other three things right?

Back at Home

So been back home since last Thursday, hate being at work. It sucks, and I find myself feeling angry sometimes at my boss. I know that a lot of my friends and family read this blog but I just need to spit this out. My boss is the same age as my grampa when he passed, I sometimes find it hard to look at him and not be angry that he is here and grampa isn't. I don't get it, I understand that this is how life works and that my grampa is in a WAY better place with an awesome workshop for him to work in but it doesn't make it any easier. Man I miss him.
In other news I am feeling HUGE and the baby seems to be resting on the right side of my body. Yesterday evening we were sitting at friends house and all of the sudden it felt like a knife was being SHOVED in between my ribs. I started yelling pretty much until it finally went away. What an awful feeling, I have decided that this baby is a boy since I don't think a girl would do that to me. It seems as though this child is constantly shoving a hand up my ribs but has positioned itself so that it is no longer on my bladder. I honestly think that I will take the bladder kicks over the hand shoving.
14 weeks 6 days to go! Man I am excited to meet this malicious little child haha and see what kind of personality they will develop!

ps... i really want that mint 3 musketeers bar they showed on tv yesterday!

Hard Times

So I know it has been a while but things have been a little rough around the house, now before anyone jumps to conclusions everything with the pregnancy is going just fine. I feel great although not as mobile and the baby is really a mover and a shaker! He/she has taken to dancing on my bladder while shoving a hand up my ribs on the right side. Lovely.... and it feels even better!

As I said in an earlier blog I had a family member who was not doing so well health wise. My grampa had been going through some issues with his heart and therefore had to have open heart surgery, he had a quad bypass 17 years earlier and had been in amazing health since then, always strong and always willing to kick our butts if we sat in his chair! In the last couple of years his energy has declined so far that he would get out of breath just walking across the room. After many tests he was diagnosed with Pericarditus (not sure how to spell it) which is the lining around the heart that contains fluid to help lubricate the pumping of the heart. After his bypass he slowly developed scar tissue on this thin membrane which in turn constricts the pumping of the heart. This is why he was running low on energy. So the doctors decided to do open heart surgery to remove this membrane (an even riskier surgery than the bypass) so that his heart could expand and fully pump again. The surgery itself went very well but his heart did not expand after they removed the membrane. He passed away as my uncle said a couple of heart beats shy of valentines day. We were all at the hospital and were able to comfort each other. I have realized in these last couple of weeks that I truly come from a family of love, my grandparents love was/is true and pure, I can only hope to have a love like theirs! Every family has their struggles but watching mine come together was a gift. I am so thankful that I got to be a part of these last couple weeks both with my grampa and in the grief of losing him. My last memories of him are so sweet and I will cherish them always.

Well thanks for listening. I have posted a pic from our wedding of myself and K with my grandparents.

Feeling Large and in Charge!

Ok so feeling pretty large these past few days... this is going to be a quick post... prison break is on and I want to spend some time with K. Thought I would post a pic and inform everyone that I am now having some problems with coordination... getting in and out of K's truck is pretty comical as is getting off the couch. Went to the dr's today and the heart rate is now at 149 or 147 I can't remember which one but it has gone down.. and some would say that means boy!!! Which makes K's day!
Below I put a pic of me today, please pardon the horrible hair I had just finished blow drying it and it gets a little poofy! Hahaha!

Getting Bigger!!!

A pic of me at 21 weeks 1 day.... as you can see I have grown a bit since week 18!!!
Yesterday was my 21st week of being pregnant... how exciting... actually it is quite exciting K and I went to Costco today (my fav place!!!) and since they were on sale we bought wipes... 720 of them to be exact... but we figured they are on sale might as well! I think it kinda spooked both of us as it is the first thing we have really bought for the bean!! I mean I bought a sleeper but this is 720 WIPES!

On a serious note and to anybody who wants to keep us in your prayers, we have a family member who is not doing well. He has been in and out of the hospital since K and I got married last May and the hardest thing for me is not being there for this person. I love him sooo much and feel like I am out of the loop up here and that I am not getting the quality time that I want. (crap now I am crying again) This person is so special to me in so many different ways and I have always thought of this person and his faith as something to look up to. I have prayed daily for a miracle and want our family to know that they are constantly on my mind. Sometimes I hate being so far away (for those of you who don't know we live 12 hours away from our families) and hate being "cut off" from the family life that is so important to both K and I. So for those of you out there please pray for our family and for this amazing person.

Realizing how fragile things can be and then getting the comment from a friend (yes I will call you a friend because even though I have not met you, you have been on my mind a lot and I love reading your blog) have made me treasure being pregnant even more. She said to treasure my pregnancy and I have just been looking forward to June when I will finally meet this bean that I have not taken as much time lately to appreciate what is currently going on inside me. So thank T for that note it came at the perfect time! (and I am so happy that you love the name I am sooo stuck on Trace! Although K brought up Daylen the other day which I like as well).

The Halfway Mark!!!

Yipeeee we made it to the halfway mark! I still can't believe it. When I feel a kick or a roll going on I am still in amazement that this is OUR baby growing inside me. CRAZY! K and I were sitting on the couch last night watching a movie before his hockey game and suddenly I almost jumped off of the couch... and of course got the "what the heck" look from K . I had just gotten the hardest kick ever to my poor bladder and it surprised me at the same time. Too funny... maybe you had to be there haha!
So things seem to be going well, I get regular beatings from the bean which let me know that he/she is still ok in there. I have been having horrible thoughts of things going wrong with the baby but every 4 weeks when I hear the heartbeat I feel a little better. I have not received a call from my Dr about the ultrasound so I assume all went well which is AWESOME!!! Next appt is on the 4th of February so we will have to wait until then.
My hips were better this week. Last week after walking through the bush with 4 dogs and 5 other people and then heading to Costco afterwards I could barely walk. The pain was terrible and felt like my hips were being ripped apart... yet one more thing to talk to the Dr about. I do get pain if I sit for too long or stand for too long or walk for too long so I try to mix things up a bit and it seems to be working. I am sleeping better (thank goodness) and finally getting used to sleeping on my left side. Although K still hates all the pillows he understands that I need them for support and that come June/July I WILL be back on my tummy sleeping. Man I miss that!
So lately we have been thinking about names, as there are so many of our friends due this year we are pretty open about what we like so that nobody else takes them! haha! If we have a girl we are looking at using K's moms name Robyn in memory of her. So it would be Robyn Marie (Marie being my middle name) and if it is a boy we love the name Trace Gordon (Gordon is my dad's middle name). There are others on the list right now but these are the two that I REALLY love! K has a list but he has it at work and can never remember the names that he has written down. So for now these are the top names. I also love Tristan for a boy or Sedona for a girl... but again we will see... we would like to have a few names for each and then when the baby pops out be able to look at him/her and decide.

The Best Day Ever!!!!

So as my title says... yesterday was the best day ever! It was amazing! At 1pm we walked into the imaging place and I was brought to the back to get started. My bladder wasn't that bad and I was comfortable the whole time. She took quite a while doing the testing and I could feel why... the bean was dancing around as she was trying to take pics.. just like mom and dad already! I found out that the reason for me always feeling movement so low is because he/she is currently sitting in breach position and kicking me in the bladder with his/her feet. CRAZY! We weren't able to get the 3D pics that we wanted due to some confusion at the front desk so black and whites it is... much to our dismay we really wanted those 3D pics they are soo amazing!
Finally after about 30 minutes K was brought in and we got to look at our bean together. We watched him/her pump the air with tiny fists, we counted the fingers and watched him/her swallow. That was amazing... to see your child swallowing, an every day activity as you sit and watch through a screen was unforgettable, we even saw the lips moving around as it swallowed. Of course me being the emotional person that I am right now I got some tears in my eyes but it was nice to see 2 arms 2 legs, a brain and all the other stuff a baby should have. I still cannot believe that I have that inside me right now. Even though I am reminded almost every minute that it is there! haha!
So after leaving that ultrasound place it was off to the vet for W our dog who has a severe ear infection and 180 bucks later and 3 prescriptions we were out of there and I could finally go home and get ready for the concert. What an awesome show, the night started with Emerson Drive (who are from the town that we live in and nominated for a Grammy for their song Moments!!!!) then it was Teri Clarke who was fantastic and finally Big & Rich!!!!! Before they came out Cowboy Troy did a couple of his songs which were sooo different and we loved them!!! All three bands put on an amazing show Big & Rich were of course way out there in their fur coats and crazy hats and Rich had his whole guitar lined in sparkly diamond type jewels! To top off the night right before they were done Big & Rich brought Emerson Drive back onto the stage for a couple more songs and to congratulate them on their Grammy nomination with a shot and a toast. It was truly a honor to be a part of that and amazing of them to do it for Emerson Drive in their home town! I have to say other than my Canucks Jersey this was the best Christmas Present ever!!!!
So below I have some pics of the ultrasound. We only got three as the babe was moving around a little bit! And he/she is sitting breach with his/her face to my back but still soooo amazing to see!!!!
The bean checking us out!
Little bum and legs curled under
Still just chillin!!! I can't believe that is our baby!!!! I love him/her already!
