Who Woulda Thought?.....

Yup who woulda thought that just a few years after I got married I would have three CRAZY boys! My priorities would switch from work to breastfeeding and maintaining sanity. That my love for shoes and purses would switch to diaper bags, strollers and good buys at Baby Gap. Sigh.... I have to admit sometimes I miss just being able to leave the house no worries, heck I miss being able to leave the house. But I wouldn't trade that for the world. Speaking of Strollers my mom just picked up a great buy on a used Valco twin in Vancouver and sent it out. Instead of paying 800 for a new one I only paid 450 for a used one! AND I can mount a third seat on it for Trace... so who knows.. maybe I will be able to get out of the house. We are going to try it this week and go for a mall walk with my friends. We will see how that works... 4 ladies, 4 strollers, 8 children... I THINK WE ARE CRAZY! 2 of us are breastfeeding so at least we won't just be stopping for me thank goodness. Will update after the trip... who knows what will happen.
Ever since my mom left I have had dreams of moving home, a home... where the help is abundant and the friends and family are plentiful and the rain is ALL the time! I am so happy that I had help for the first few months as we are now somewhat established.. the boys sleep for 5 hours at a time now and we are somewhat sain at the end of the day. But to be around my parents and Kyle's family... would be such a prayer answered. Ah well a girl can dream right?
In other news we have shots this Friday for the twins... 4 months already! Where is this time going? Pretty soon I will be making baby food. I am going to the shots alone with them which kinda scares me. Don't know how exactly it is going to work but it will have to. Ah well. I look forward to seeing how much they weigh and how they are doing on their growth charts! Well they are stirring.... time to go!

Visitors??

Well the visitors have come and gone and now I am really on my own every day... frankly it sucks. I love the adult interaction and conversation during the day. To be able to sit down and have a coffee in the morning and chat with a friend or my mom was priceless. Now what am I going to do. We have been pretty busy around here lately and now things are going to slow down a little... sigh. Trace is still getting his first four molars in and come 4pm in the afternoon things get a little scary around here.... yesterday we had a 2 hour cry fest. yuck!!!
The twins are doing really well and probably weighing in over 10 lbs! CRAZY how fast they grow. They are still not sleeping through the night but only getting us up once which isn't too bad. Kyle still wakes up with me so really it only takes about 30 minutes and we are back in bed!!
I have been dreaming lately of moving back to Vancouver and being close to all of our families, being away from them since 2002 has been really hard, I just don't want the kids to grow up so far away from all of their family. But I figure if it is meant to be it will happen... and if not things will happen up here!
Well... off to feed the boys again... the never ending process haha!!

Winter Boogers..

Ok so gross I know... but I have just realized that come next winter I will have three noses to blow, three noses to pick and three boys with all of their sometimes gross little habits... AND this is only the beginning! I am looking forward to the twin being older and to Trace talking a little more. He is trying soo hard to communicate with us and I can see his frustrations when we don't understand what he is saying.
In great news I won the cloth diaper from my amazing friend Pam's website... for those of you who haven't checked it out look up www.acornsoaks.com she has some awesome diapers all of which she has used on her own little man! She has some great other things to check out as well. I highly recommend the Fuzzy Bunz and the Gro Baby Diapers! I still want to try the Apple Cheeks as they are so cute!
On to the Olympics, I have to say I have been glued to the TV for days watching the olympics and looking for people I might know. So far I have seen three people! CRAZY! It makes me miss home and I wish that we could have been down there to celebrate with everyone else. My dad and brother are heading to the Arials competition next week so keep your eyes open for them!
Well Trace is almost done his lunch which means nap time for the whole family!! YIPEEE! Ok well with my luck the twins will wake up just as Trace goes down sigh.. the story of my life. My mom is still here for another few weeks which is nice I am very thankful for everything that she has done here! She is still in the process of freezing meals for when she is gone and I don't feel like cooking!
Well off to clean peanut butter off of Trace's face... don't know how he managed to get it everywhere!! ahah!

Alone... for now.

Well... mom has gone home for 10 days... she will be back on the 6th of Feb for three more weeks then I am really alone. Not sure what I think about that. Living away from home for the last almost 8 years has been hard, you don't realize how much you miss family until you have access to them everyday for 3 months. When I dropped her off at the airport yesterday I thought I was fine.. then I started driving away. Not so fine. I came home unloaded the kids one at a time and undid the boys from their carseats and then everyone started crying, including myself. I put the twins on the boob and then the only ones left crying were myself and Trace.
Today feels a bit better, the boys only got us up once last night which is nice, although we went to bed later. I am hoping that someday soon they will be able to sleep through the night... I know I am dreaming but a girl can dream right? Trace has been better today as well, he has been getting in 4 molars and 2 have somewhat broken through which is nice. I am dreading twin teething, though I know that is a ways off. Anyways... managed to take a shower and put on makeup (well mascara at least) so I am feeling much better today. But I do have my mom coming back to look forward to. Yesterday I was ready to pick up and move home to vancouver, man I miss that place. I wish we could but I don't see it happening any time soon.
In wonderful news I got my first smile from Jaxon yesterday. Sooo sweet, he looked right at me and smiled! yipeee! I was so happy! I can't wait till they are sitting up and interacting more! My mom called from Vancouver today, it is the first time that Trace has actually talked back on the phone, she was asking him all of the animal sounds he knows and he was answering!! Sooo cute!
The above pics are of the boys with their eyes open finally! Both in one pic and then Trace with his thumbs up face and his favourite hat on.. don't ask why but he loves that container!

Been a While

Yes this seems to be the story of my life... it has been a while and when do I actually have time to post. I am now a mother of three little boys. The twins Canaan Keith and Jaxon James are 7.5 weeks old! Man time flies. They were born on the 29th of November 2009 and have kept us busy since. Jaxon was born first at 4 lbs 14 oz and Canaan was born 4 minutes later 4 lbs 3 oz. He was our tiny baby and is now the bigger (by 3 oz) of the two!
Trace is adapting well, he is a busy little boy and I am very grateful for the help my mom has provided. She has been living with us since the end of November and will be staying until the end of Feb. As I type she is making spaghetti sauce to be frozen and used after she leaves! The boy are ALL sleeping YIPEEE!! Trace is now sleeping with the side off of his crib as I am hoping to have his out of his crib by the time my mom leaves as the boys will need it. We still have much to purchase but have been overwhelmed by the generosity of our friends, neighbors and even my church as they provided meals for us!
Some of our stories of late are Trace getting MANY teeth all at once, he is currently working on his first molars! That will bring our grand total of teeth to 12. He is running around lots and got spoiled for Christmas. He seems to love the boys and loves to hold and cuddled them. He is sure that they need their soothers at all times and ensures that he FIRMLY hahaha puts them in their mouths. As each day goes by the twins spend more and more time awake and I wonder what I should do to entertain them. I am breast feeding them both as well which is going quite smoothly! I am happy that this has been easier than breastfeeding Trace. Who would have thought.
I know that this blog has been many updates and I hope to share some of our stories as I now have a laptop and can use the computer upstairs!
Here are some updated pics of the twins (yes they are identical) and of Trace ... enjoy!
