Yea for the Long Weekend!!!

So this weekend is the long weekend... sooo excited as it is also our one year wedding anniversary! I have been promised a trip to the Keg for dinner mmmmm prime rib and crab legs!! And maybe a trip to Dawson Creek on Sunday for some White Spot. K is still out of town but returning tomorrow around 4ish and I am pretty excited about that to. This week has gone by pretty quickly as I had prayed it would and pretty uneventful. As in no trips to the L and D and the baby has stayed in! yipeee!!!!!
Wednesday I hung out with a good friend in the afternoon and it was so nice to get out of the house. I relaxed and chatted and as usual laughed my head off with her, it was such a nice way to pass the afternoon. In the evening there was America's Next Top Model of course so I went over to another friends house (who made an amazing blue cheese dip yum!) and watched the best girl win! Sooo happy that Whitney won ... cheers to the first full figured Top Model! Keeping busy really made the day fly by and being midweek gave me something to look forward to all week.
Today I had my going away lunch from my work, as tomorrow would have been my last day. It was a nice turnout! I really enjoyed myself and the food..although I always enjoy food! haha! They had a nice card that everyone signed and it was just nice to see their faces. I am really going to miss some of the people from work. Who woulda thought! lol.
So now I just have one more sleep until my hubby is home and we celebrate our anniversary... and one week until my bestest comes into town. So many things to look forward to. I know that these next few weeks will fly by and then I finally get to meet my bean!
Anyways that is all for now... I am heading back to my rocking chair and my cross stitching and magazines... oh what an exciting afternoon I have planned!!!

An Update... yea I know it has been a while!

Ok so I thought it had been a while since I posted pics... for those of you that don't know I have been taken off of work by my doctor because of my feet and the risk of toxemia. My blood pressure for now is fine so I am not too worried... just bored haha! K and I went to our prenatal class on Saturday and although it scared the living daylights out of me it also put me at ease. So many things that K and I had discussed and talked about and decided on were things that the nurse said we should talk about. There was a whole mix of people there all shapes sizes and ages so it was nice to see that as well.

So went into the L and D twice these last two weeks, first time was because of my discomfort and the second time was due to some really bad cramps in my stomach. Both times the baby was doing AWESOME, and it was nice to see layout of the L and D ward. Since my dr was out of town I had to go into her fill in dr on Friday to get a prescription (gotta love bladder infections) and he had an ultrasound machine in his office!!!! So I got a quick peek at the babe. He also (K WARNING TMI FOR SOME PEOPLE) did an internal and found out that the baby was completely dropped (I believe his words were "oh there is the babies head!!") and that I was 2 to 3 cm dilated. So of course I got excited as this is part that I don't have to go through later... and I can be like this for a month before I go into labour. It just means the baby is pretty much ready and raring to go! Anyways so I called my mom and of course freaked her out... oops... sorry mom! And then got an email from dad saying to hold onto the baby until after they go on vacation... so sorry dad! haha! Of course he was joking and it was nice to get a laugh.

So K is going to Minnesota this week Mon-Fri... so gotta hold onto this little one until after he gets back, then we celebrate our one year wedding anniversary yipeee!!!! Can't believe all that has happened in a year!

The Cankles

Well in regards to the title... yes my feet are swollen and sometimes purple... after a shower my legs are purple too. I am guessing that this is not a good thing and should be brought up at my next dr's appt. I know that it is probably the water retention in my legs cutting off my circulation or not allowing circulation so I try to keep my feet up as much as possible. Now this is hard because there is always so much to be done.

In regards to baby bean things seem to be going well, he/she is constantly moving and shaking it up in my belly and making its presence known. I am seriously getting excited to meet the little babe! I am also ready to not be preggers anymore, I know I will miss the feel of the bean moving and stuff but right now I feel like a cooked turkey.




Some of my friends have made plans to come out around the time of birth which is awesome! My bestest A is coming out late in May and I know that she will try everything in her power to get me to go into labour that weekend! haha! Then as soon as I do go into labour I phone my mom and dad and they are jumping in the car for the 12 hour trip up here to help us out!! So awesome! Now the even greater thing about having all of these visits is that we are planning a move to Edmonton area after the babe is born and everyone seems to want to help me pack... what nice people. A friend from Edmonton L even offered to come up here after the baby is born and help me pack and stuff. Plus she would be a person to help me unpack on the other side. I am just blown away by what amazing friends and family I am blessed to have!




Anyways just thought I would do a quick update, other than strange swelling things are going well and I have my next dr's appt next Friday!!! I posted some pics of myself this week too... oh and of my cankles to all of you that are curious! You know you wanna see them! haha!

32 Weeks.... slowly but surely!

Well I am 32 weeks today. 4 more weeks till full terms, 32 days from Mat leave and 56 days from due date. Can you tell that the countdowns are on? After miscarrying and then getting preggers 4 weeks later... by the time I deliver I will have been pregnant for almost a year. now that is an awful long time if you ask me!

K is doing pretty well, he is massaging my feet almost daily as they tend to get pretty painfully swollen, I have not worn socks for about 4 weeks now as they cut off my circulation. I am looking forward to resting a little bit while on mat leave and living in my sweat pants! Lame I know=, but these are the things I look forward to.

Went in for my checkup today, measuring 33 cms so all is good, and the heartbeat was about 135 so it has come down a bit again. I was told anything between 110 and 160 is normal so that calmed me down a little bit! Anyways that is all for now... oh had a dream that I went into early labor.. that was kinda freaky... anything after 36 weeks I am game for but not before that!

Since I can remember my family has always been one of complete love, yes we had hiccups, barriers and high rivers to cross but I ALWAYS new that I was loved unconditionally. These last couple of weeks have been a little on the hard side. I have realized how much I leaned on my parents and now lean on K. I understand (before my friends comment otherwise) that I am a very strong person, but some things require help. (Like getting out of my couch :-) Anyways back to the topic at hand, if there is one thing that I take from my parents it is the ability to love, and to love openly, to not hide it or push it to the side. But to wear the love for my husband and children where everyone can see it and to never be ashamed of it.
I have realized over these last couple of weeks how all of this baby prep is slightly overwhelming when you don't have family around you. I call my parents sometimes daily, and usually about nothing but I enjoy keeping that link. While out with my friend L and K to shop for baby gear it really felt like someone was missing, my mom. I wished that she could have been there, to help and to push my buttons.. which is what usually happens when her and K are around haha! I always figured I would be doing some of these things with her but living 12 hours or 2 flights away really puts a damper on that. I do however look forward to her visit in June when I come home with the bean from the hospital.

Mission Successful!

As stated in my title ... Mission Successful! After driving for 4 hours to Edmonton going for a quick shop at the Bay to see what they have... Not Helpful At ALL!!! The woman that was trying to help us didn't know the answer to ANY of our questions... seriously.. don't work in the Nursery department then! We went to our friends house to chill for the evening and took off around noon the next day for Babies R Us. The ladies there were AMAZING!!! So incredibly helpful, we decided to buy our stroller and our crib there. We bought a Graco stroller and I LOVE it already.. the exact one is posted below and the crib is a little darker than that but it converts to a double bed!!! Which is AWESOME! We ended up going to The Bay to buy our accessories and bought the awesome bedding below. Spent a lot of money of course but it feels so good to have these things done! We also bought a dresser at Ikea and are going to set it up for a change table as well. It is the perfect height!
So in terms of how I am feeling... other than the cankles from shopping on Friday I have been feeling alright. I have a massage scheduled for tonight and I am really looking forward to her getting some of the water out of my legs ... gotta love water retention! I am having problems getting out of our couch but I blame the couch more than me, it is one of those old sucks you in couches. I prefer my glider rocker but the cats seem to really like that one too! They have taken to sleeping there instead of on our bed, it is pretty funny to see! I have super long hair and I now dread taking the shower to wash my hair it is exhausting, but has to be done. K is pretty good with helping me do things, he helps me get up from the couch or laughs at me one of the two, he carries all the heavy stuff since I can't anymore. Although I do feel frustrated sometimes... I want to help with things and I don't feel like I am doing my part and poor K has to do all the heavy stuff. We set up the dresser last night and took down the desk that was in that room so I feel that we have accomplished something. Have I rambled enough... I have more pics to post of me at 29 weeks but those will have to wait as I left the camera at home. So I guess there is more to come!

Shopping!!!!!!

So today my K and I are heading off to Edmonton for some much needed baby furniture shopping....yipeeee!!! The only thing is that I don't last to long on my feet and by the end of a regular day they are usually cankles. YUCK! I should post a pic of them from Feb.. they were pretty bad. And yet I find them mildly amusing. I can't even wear my wedding rings anymore so I am currently wearing a ring that I bought for Kyle when we first moved in together.
Ok back to shopping... soooo excited!!! We are hoping to be able to pick up our crib, dresser/change table and stroller! I am very excited about this stroller. I guess I am becoming a bit of a grown up after all I never thought I would be excited about something like this!
Well in one hour we will be on the road for the BORING 4 hour drive, which is immediately followed by us signing our taxes, K stopping by the branch down there and then finally off to the Bay to see what we love and if anyone has it in stock. That is our other problem. This stuff we want is all special order and they don't always have it in stock, which means that we can't be as picky if we want to pick it up this weekend. Ahh well... our friends are coming up in a couple weeks and they can always bring it with them! Yay for friends!
So other than the water retention I have been feeling ok.. a little tired and I am up usually about 3 or 4 times a night! YUCK! I have a heating pad that comes everywhere with me! It is my life saver right now.. makes work a little more comfortable. Oh and also found out that the baby is sitting head down! yipee! Heartbeat is 142 which is nice and healthy and some people say it means boy! K is pretty happy about that.
Anyways I am off but I will post more pics when I get home.. hopefully with all of our new furniture!!!!
